Sensor technologies

The keyboard and mouse have become a kind of standard for us. Just think, habitual and cheaper. But outside the home and office it is easier to use a sensor, touch screen or touch panel (touch screen). The advantages of a touch panel are its smaller size, simplicity, convenience, and insensitivity to vibration and moisture. It consists of a sensor, controller and support driver.

Touch screen – allows you to work with your computer by simply tapping.

Sensor-a transparent panel which reacts to touch.

Controller –a circuit board connecting the touch screen to a personal computer, the controller handles information for it.

Driver-software which allows the Touch Screen to work.

Few current generation mobile devices can function without a touch screen or touch pad. Sensor technologies are used in payment terminals, information kiosks in airports and railway stations, self-service systems, emergency systems, handheld computers and e-books.

Touch screens are especially useful in education. They make information accessible and visual allowing you to navigate with a simple touch, minimizing the number of buttons and keys on the device and making it more ergonomic.

Touch screens on handheld devices and e-books are very important and convenient for students of all levels. Modern technologies allow touch screens to work in darkness, in an inhospitable environment, function through glass of up to 18 mm and resist mechanical damage.

Nowadays there is a touchpad that detects the distance between your fingers and a panel. At the Interaction 2009 exhibition in Tokyo a device using a 3D touch panel was presented. When bringing a finger closer to a 3D picture on the panel the picture changed in size.

The application of touch screens and panels will give a new impetus to the development of automotive technology, "smart House" technology, and to the entertainment, service and trade industries.
